Secondary Education Completed Outside Canada

Students are admitted to the University of Alberta on the basis of their Alberta secondary education. Those who were not educated in this system will have their academic work evaluated for its equivalency to the Alberta system.

In general, an equivalent system will represent a total of 12 years of primary and secondary education. This includes the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement (College Board) examination results. For admission, you will need to present the appropriate credential listed below plus the appropriate required subjects.

If your credentials are written in a language other than English you will also need to submit an official English translation of these credentials.
