The following scholarships are part of the Faculty/Department Scholarship Competition.

Anthropology 3rd Year Scholarship

Field of Study: Anthropology

Value: $500

Number: 1

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third year of a degree program in honors Anthropology or with a major in Anthropology. Recipient chosen must have at least 12 units of course weight in Anthropology courses. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Anthropology 4th Year Scholarship

Field of Study: Anthropology

Value: $500

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the fourth year of a degree program in honors Anthropology or with a major in Anthropology. Recipient chosen must have at least 21 units of course weight in Anthropology courses. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Anthropology Graduating Scholarship

Field of Study: Anthropology

Value: $500

Number: 1

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a graduating student with superior academic achievement in the Anthropology Major or Honors program. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Gerald Ferro Memorial Scholarship in Anthropology

Field of Study: Forensic Anthropology

Value: $750

Number: 1

Conditions: To be awarded annually to either an Anthropology Graduate Student or a fourth year student with superior academic achievement intending to commence or continue graduate studies in the field of Forensic Anthropology. Recipient will be selected on the basis of a combination of academic standing, research potential, and innovation of proposed research as determined by a departmental selection committee.

Donor: Endowed by Dr Roy Marokus, MD in memory of the late Gerald Ferro, a former Solicitor and Attorney at Law in Tucson, Arizona

Dr Henry T Lewis Memorial Scholarship in Anthropology

Field of Study: Anthropology

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering fourth year of a degree program in Anthropology specializing in Socio-Cultural Anthropology. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement.

Donor: Endowed by family, friends, former students, colleagues, and the Department of Anthropology in memory of Professor Emeritus and former Chair Dr Henry T Lewis

Luciana (Pizzi) Sivertson Scholarship

Field of Study: Anthropology

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in the Department of Anthropology. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement.
