Spring and Summer Studies - 2010
Picture yourself at the U of A and add to your collection of experiences!
Whether you are looking for a way to expedite the completion of your degree, an opportunity to explore an area of personal interest, a forum in which to enhance your professional skills, or a travel adventure, the U of A has a course for you. Spring and Summer courses are a fantastic way to learn – daily immersion in one or two subjects can make for an intense and focused learning experience. The practical advantages range from discovery-based learning, international travel opportunities, and community-based practicums.
Registration begins February 16, 2010
You're bound to find a learning opportunity that interests you. Travel to France and immerse yourself in the country's language and culture; traverse the frontiers of Alberta's outdoors; experience global citizenship, music, language, and culture in Ghana; examine personal and social issues in social studies education; or participate in a multidisciplinary exploration of the intersection of religion and development in India. These are just a few of the credit courses offered by the U of A from May to August that integrate learning, discovery and citizenship.
A complete listing of all of the courses offered in the Spring and Summer can be viewed on Bear Tracks.
When?
Each standard term of Spring and Summer lasts for six weeks; the Spring Term runs during May and June, and the Summer Term runs during July and August. There are some courses, however, that have a non-standard time frame; some, for example last for only one week; others last for twelve weeks, spanning both terms.
Who can take Spring and Summer Courses?
Spring and Summer studies are open to continuing students and lifelong learners who wish to enhance their professional skills or take a course for personal enrichment. If you are not in a degree or diploma program, you may choose to register through Open Studies. ![]()
