Faculté Saint-Jean

An intimate group of buildings on rue Marie-Anne Gaboury, six kilometres east of the main campus, is home to the Faculté Saint-Jean. In the hallways, offices, and classrooms, French is the language of choice.

The Faculté Saint-Jean offers the only French-language university-degree programs west of Manitoba. You can conduct your university studies in a francophone setting while being part of a primarily English-speaking university. What better way to experience a language and culture while still having a truly bilingual experience! And what better way to get that experience than with award-winning professors!

Faculté Saint-Jean is proud of its outstanding faculty, including Dr Florence Gobeil-Dwyer, recipient of the Rutherford Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, and McCalla Professorship (for excellence in research) recipient Dr Dennis Gignac.

The Faculté's facilities include a curriculum materials centre, a multimedia lab, a new residence, a recently-renovated academic and cultural centre, and a library with one of the most comprehensive collections of French language books in Western Canada. With the shuttle-bus service, you will have total access to the main U of A campus.
