Amdahl Academic Achievement Scholarship in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to students with superior academic achievement enrolled in the fourth year of a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Computing Science or a Bachelor of Science Specialization in Computing Science. Selection based on academic standing.

Canadian Information Processing Society Scholarships

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: To be awarded annually on the basis of superior academic achievement to a student entering second, third or fourth year of the Computing Science program.

Catherine Descheneau Teaching Assistantship Award in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Department of Computing Science who served as a teaching assistant for at least one term. Selection based on academic standing, demonstrated effectiveness and involvement as a teaching assistant in the enhancement of the learning experience of students.

Gold Medal in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to the student convocating from the Honors or Specialization program in Computing Science who has the highest average in courses taken in the last three years of the program. Preference given to students who have maintained a full normal course load (30 units of course weight) in each of their last three academic years.

Haemonetics Software Solutions Computing Science Scholarship

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to a resident of Alberta with superior academic achievement continuing in the fourth year of study with a major in computing science in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on academic achievement and financial need.

CIPS Stan Heaps Memorial Scholarship

Dirk Snoeck Henkemans Memorial Scholarship

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program in Computing Science. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student who has been involved in, and made contributions to student life in the Department of Computing Science.

Terence Holowach Memorial Prize

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student entering second, third or fourth year of a BSc program specializing in Computing Science. The recipient shall have demonstrated superior achievement in Mathematics, Physics and Computing Science, a commitment to assisting his/her fellow students and be a graduate of an Alberta High School.

Iverson Exam Prizes

Field of Study: Faculty of Science

Conditions: Awarded annually to grade ten, eleven and twelve students completing the Iverson Computing Science exam who attend the University of Alberta, registered in the Faculty of Science, within 15 months of completing the exam. Awards will be given to the students who achieve the three highest scores on the exam. Prizes for fourth place and beyond may also be given, depending on fund availability. Students may win prizes in multiple years. The maximum a student may accumulate will not exceed the amount of the first place prize given out in the year they complete grade twelve.

Kao Family Eisenco Scholarship

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to an Alberta resident who is a Canadian Citizen with superior academic achievement entering the fourth year of an Honours degree program in Computing Science. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student whose focus is theoretical computing.

Barry J Mailloux Prize in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: To be awarded annually to the student completing second or third year in a Computing Science Program (Honors or Specialization) who has the highest academic standing and shows the greatest commitment to succeed.

Mark Van Mechelen Scholarship in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to an Alberta resident who is a Canadian Citizen with superior academic achievement enrolled in the fourth year of an Honors or Specialization degree program in Computing Science. Selection based on academic achievement and demonstrated community service and/or volunteer activity with preference given to a student who is not in receipt of another award.

Dr Brian Pinchbeck Memorial Industrial Internship Prize

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement in INT D 400: Industrial Internship Practicum and satisfactory standing overall. Recipients will be selected on the basis of their oral and written communication skills and exceptional performance in the work experience component of their Industrial Internship Program in Computing Science.

CIPS Donald B Scott Memorial Award in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Offered annually to a student entering fourth year of the program in Computing Science, on the basis of academic attainment and personal qualities of the individual.

Kathryn O'Donoghue Ward Memorial Scholarship

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering or transferring into a Computing Science degree program in the Faculty of Science. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement. Preference will be given to a female student.
