Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering and taking courses in the area of building science. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated interest in building science.

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement entering the second year of studies in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipient will be selected on the basis of superior academic achievement.

ATCO Centennial Award

Field of Study: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Conditions: To be awarded annually to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with satisfactory academic standing entering the third year of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing, well-rounded personality, interpersonal skills, and leadership potential as demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular activities.

Funded by: Endowed in 1987 by Alberta Power Limited (now ATCO) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the creation of engineering as an organized profession.

Field of Study: Engineering

At least two of the recipients will be selected from the disciplines of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering annually. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Conditions: Awarded to a student who is a First Nation, Inuit, or Métis person of Canada in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1982, Part 2, Section 35(2) with satisfactory academic standing entering the second, third or fourth year of study in a Bachelor of Engineering degree program . Preference will be given to a student in the Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering programs. Selection based on academic standing.

Hutton Family Scholarship in Engineering

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.5 entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipient must have received in excess of $10,000 in government student loans over his or her academic career. Preference may be given to a student with demonstrated extracurricular involvement.

Dave Johnson Memorial Bursary

Field of Study: Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the third or fourth year in the Faculty of Engineering majoring in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing. Preference will be given to students whose principal place of residence is Northeastern British Columbia and/or who are in financial need.

Field of Study: Engineering Communications

Conditions: To be awarded annually to Alberta residents with satisfactory academic standing in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipients will be selected on the basis of superior oral and written skills in English in one of the required Engineering Communications courses in either Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The award will also be based on overall academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities and leadership potential.

Funding for the third and fourth years is contingent upon maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a minimum 24 credits over the most recent September to April period each year in the Faculty of Engineering.
