Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement entering the second year of studies in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipient will be selected on the basis of superior academic achievement.

Field of Study: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the fourth year of studies in the Department of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Funded by: Endowed by colleagues, friends and family. Warren DuBois was a Professional Engineer with outstanding achievements in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. His work was in development and operation of electric and natural gas utilities in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Enbridge Inc Dean of Engineering 2nd Year Scholarships

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: To be awarded annually to students with superior academic achievement entering or transferring to their second year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. At least two of the recipients will be selected from the disciplines of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering annually. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

Preference will be given to a student in the Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering programs. Selection based on academic standing.

Field of Study: Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in a full normal course load entering the third or fourth year of studies in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Selection based on academic standing (GPA of 3.3 or higher) with preference given to a female for one of the two awards.

Robert M W Frederking Engage North Engineering Award

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing entering any year of study in an undergraduate or graduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering. Preference given to students in the Engage North Fellowship program. Students in an Engineering Cooperative Education Program in an isolated community as defined by the Prescribed Northern Zone (Zone A) will also be considered if there are no other suitable candidates.

Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, qualities of scholarship, leadership, career goals, demonstrated interest and previous experience in the field of Mining, Materials or Petroleum Engineering.

Hutton Family Scholarship in Engineering

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.5 entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipient must have received in excess of $10,000 in government student loans over his or her academic career. Preference may be given to a student with demonstrated extracurricular involvement.

Dave Johnson Memorial Bursary

Field of Study: Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering

Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing. Preference will be given to students whose principal place of residence is Northeastern British Columbia and/or who are in financial need.

Bruce A McGregor Award in Engineering Communication

Field of Study: Engineering Communications

Conditions: To be awarded annually to Alberta residents with satisfactory academic standing in the Faculty of Engineering. Recipients will be selected on the basis of superior oral and written skills in English in one of the required Engineering Communications courses in either Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The award will also be based on overall academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities and leadership potential.

Field of Study: Engineering

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the first year of a degree program in one of the following engineering disciplines: civil, mechanical, mineral, electrical, geological, metallurgical, computer, mining, surveying or petrochemical. Recipient will be chosen on the basis of academic standing, evidence of maturity, extracurricular activities, work experience, and community involvement. This award is renewable for the second, third, and fourth years provided the student maintains superior academic standing.
