Ambassador Award

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing registered in the BSc Nursing program. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing. Recipient must be an active volunteer within the Faculty of Nursing, and display the qualities of integrity, caring/compassion, patience, empathy, ability to live with ambiguity, critical thinking, responsibility, and accountability that are important in the Nursing profession.

Margaret Baxter Memorial Scholarship In Nursing

Margaret Trevail Bridges Memorial Scholarships in Nursing

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: To be awarded annually to an Alberta Resident on the basis of superior academic achievement in the BSc Nursing program. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.

Funded by: Mr Austin Bridges in memory of his wife, Margaret Trevail Bridges, a graduate of the University of Alberta Hospitals School of Nursing.

BScN Honors Research Award

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Honors program. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated expected benefit of study and/or research opportunity.

Class of September 1959 Nursing Scholarship

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to an undergraduate student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of the BSc Nursing program. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement and indicated financial need.

Margaret Dell Scholarship

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to students with superior academic achievement enrolled in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Nursing with a special interest in working with children with disabilities in the community. Selection based on academic standing. The student selected is expected to visit a Residential Resources children's facility, preferably Rosecrest Home, prior to receiving the award.

Margaret Faulkner Memorial Scholarship

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student entering the final year of one of the programs in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta site which leads to a BSc in Nursing degree. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of superior academic achievement with consideration being given to proficiency in the clinical area, involvement in professional and extracurricular activities and the potential for leadership in Nursing.

Filipino Nurses Association in Alberta Scholarship in Nursing

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to students who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and residents of Alberta with superior academic achievement enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Nursing. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to students who are members of the University of Alberta Philippine Students' Association.

Deborah Folk Emergency Medicine Excellence Award

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Nursing. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to fourth year students enrolled in a preceptorship course or practicum focusing on emergency nursing.

Anne and Eldon Foote Scholarships in Nursing

Field of Study: Nursing

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic achievement who are registered nurses with active registration, presently working or who have previously worked in the field of nursing, returning to full or part time post secondary studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing After Degree Program, University of Alberta site. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing achieved on the Diploma in Nursing and demonstrated leadership through involvement and participation in activities within the nursing profession. Preference will be given to students who are First Nation, Inuit, or Métis people of Canada in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1982, Part 2, Section 35(2). Financial need will also be considered. In the event that there are no qualified candidates in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Collaborative Program, then students enrolled in the third or fourth year of the basic collaborative nursing program will be considered. Preference will again be given to Indigenous applicants.

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a Registered Nurse who has previously worked in the field of Nursing and is returning to postsecondary studies in the Post RN Bachelor of Science Nursing program, Edmonton site. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement and references from recent Nursing employment. In the event that there are no suitable candidates, the scholarship may be awarded to a student entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.

Preference will be given to students with indicated financial need and who have an interest in serving the Aboriginal community. This award cannot be received more than once.
