The following scholarships are part of the Faculty/Department Scholarship Competition.

Honors Medal in Philosophy

Field of Study: Philosophy

Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement convocating with Honors in Philosophy. Recipient will be the student with the highest academic standing in the last two years of the program.

William Irvine Memorial Prize in Ethics

Field of Study: Philosophy

Conditions: Awarded to students with superior academic achievement in PHIL 250 or 350. Selection based on academic standing. Part-time students are eligible for this prize.

Funded by: Endowed by friends of the late Mr Irvine.

Application/Nomination Procedure: By application to the Department of Philosophy

Marilyn R Love Scholarship in Philosophy - RENEWABLE

Field of Study: Philosophy

Conditions: Awarded to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with superior academic achievement entering the second year of Bachelor of Arts Honors in Philosophy. Selection based on academic standing. Renewals are based on superior academic achievement and continuation in Honors in Philosophy.

Karen Pilkington Memorial Scholarship in the History of Philosophy

Field of Study: Philosophy

Conditions: To be awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program majoring in Philosophy. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing and demonstrated interest in the history of philosophy.

Robert Alexander Seaton Memorial Prize in Political Philosophy

Field of Study: Philosophy

Conditions: Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement in Political Philosophy (PHIL 270). Selection based on the highest academic achievement in the course.
