The following scholarships are part of the Faculty/Department Scholarship Competition.

Nan and Margaret-Ann Armour WISEST Participant Scholarship (Renewable)

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded on the basis of superior academic achievement to a student entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Science who has participated in the WISEST Summer Research Program. Recipient will be selected on the basis of Grade 11 and/or Grade 12 final marks. Receipt of the funding for the second year is contingent upon the achieving a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a full normal course load in the Faculty of Science.

Barry Bennett Award in Science

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded to a student who identifies as female with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership, community engagement, volunteerism and/or involvement in extracurricular activities.

Pearl Cuthbertson Memorial Award

Field of Study: Faculty of Science

Conditions: Awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the second year of study for a Bachelor of Science degree who has completed InSciTE. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated determination, curiosity and enthusiasm for science.

Dean's Gold Medal in Science

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded to the convocating student from the general program in the Faculty of Science who has shown the highest distinction in scholarship.

Dean's Silver Medal in Science

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: To be awarded annually to convocating students with superior academic achievement enrolled in an Honors program in the Faculty of Science. Recipients must have had a minimum grade point average of at least 3.7 on a full course load in three Fall/Winter academic sessions while enrolled in the Faculty of Science.

Lund Award

Field of Study: Sciences

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing continuing in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on the greatest academic improvement in GPA in most recent two academic years based on a full normal course load per year. In case of a tie, preference will be given to students enrolled in one of the following Specializations or Honors programs: Biochemistry, Immunology, and Infection, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology or Physiology.

Lawrence A Mysak Award in Science

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the second, third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science in the Department of Biological Sciences or Earth and Atmospheric Sciences who are studying Ocean, Atmospheric or Climate (including paleoclimate) Sciences. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to students in the third year. If there are no suitable candidates, students in an Applied Mathematics degree, a Physics degree with special interests in fluid mechanics, or an Ecology degree may be considered.

Science Internship Program (SIP) Excellence Award

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing in the Faculty of Science with who have completed the Science Internship Program (SIP) and have achieved academic excellence in the internship capstone course (INT D 400).
