Helen Biltek Leadership Scholarship

Field of Study: Physics

Conditions: Awarded to a student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in Honors Mathematical Physics or Honors Physics in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to students with demonstrated leadership in student activities.

Lund Award

Field of Study: Sciences

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing continuing in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on the greatest academic improvement in GPA in most recent two academic years based on a minimum 24 credits over the most recent September to April period per year. In case of a tie, preference will be given to students enrolled in one of the following Specializations or Honors programs: Biochemistry, Immunology, and Infection, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology or Physiology.

Microquest Leadership Award in Computing Science

Field of Study: Computing Science

Conditions: Awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership in the Faculty of Science. Preference given to a student with a specialization in Computing Science - Software Practice or with a demonstrated interest in bioinformatics.

Lawrence A Mysak Award in Science

Field of Study: Science

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the second, third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science in the Department of Biological Sciences or Earth and Atmospheric Sciences who are studying Ocean, Atmospheric or Climate (including paleoclimate) Sciences. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to students in the third year. If there are no suitable candidates, students in an Applied Mathematics degree, a Physics degree with special interests in fluid mechanics, or an Ecology degree may be considered.

Conditions: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing in the Faculty of Science who have secured an internship through the Science Internship Program (SIP) that is located outside Alberta and requires travel that is not provided by the employer.
