Campus Food Bank

    The Campus Food Bank is a registered charity that distributes food hampers, toiletries and poverty reduction/advocacy referrals to any member of the University of Alberta community in financial distress. The Campus Food Bank is governed by a Board of Directors representing our community and is funded in large by the SU and GSA. 80% or more of monetary donations go directly to food relief.

Centre for Student Development

    The Centre for Student Development offers a number of programs designed to provide students with the tools they require to be successful in their transition to, through, and beyond the University of Alberta. These include:

Orientation, Campus Ambassadors, The First Year Initiative (FYI), and From Backpack to Briefcase.

ECOS: Environmental Coordination Office of Students

    ECOS is a service of the Students’ Union that provides awareness, support, and volunteer opportunities for students and other members of the campus community to learn about and improve the sustainability of campus. ECOS further strives to facilitate collaboration between diverse individuals and groups who are working for campus sustainability.

InfoLink: Academic and Information Services

    InfoLink provides information and resources to students in a wide range of areas, including academic guidance. In addition to information desks in SUB, HUB, ETLC and CAB, InfoLink provides: Online Exam Registry, Off-Campus Housing Listings, Jobkin, Tutor Listings, Used Book Listings, Ride Board and Car Pool Listings and Volunteer Opportunity Listings. Peer Support Centre

    The Peer Support Centre provides supportive listening, information, and referral services to students. Peer support is provided in a confidential and non-judgmental manner, and no problem is too big or too small. PSC volunteers are trained on a wide variety of issues, from suicide and mental health concerns to relationship issues and exam stress.

Postal Outlet

142C, Main Floor SUB

    The Postal Outlet operates in concert with Canada Post and offers a variety of services to students, staff and the general public including Stamp Sales, Faxing, Postal Box Rentals, Priority Courier, Xpress Post, Money Orders and Moneygram money transfers. The Postal Outlet is open from Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.

Safewalk

    Safewalk is a volunteer-based service that provides the campus community with an alternative to walking alone after dark. To use Safewalk, call 4-WALK-ME (492-5563) and a co-ed team will be dispatched to meet you and accompany you to your destination.

Student Financial Aid Information Centre (SFAIC)

    The Student Financial Aid Information Centre offers students assistance with all questions related to student funding. SFAIC also offers financial literacy programs. The Centre is located in the Student Financial Resources Centre in SUB.

    Student Group Services exists to actively support and develop the members of University of Alberta student groups. Groups represent the diverse cultural, political, and recreational interests of students. Registered groups are eligible for various privileges from the Students’ Union, including grants and loans, office and meeting space, mail boxes, publicity, and seminars

    The goal of the Student OmbudService is to ensure fairness across any and all processes that occur within the University of Alberta. These include, but are not limited to academic appeals, discipline appeals as well as interpersonal conflict resolution.

Students’ Union Access Fund

    The Access Fund is a nonrepayable bursary available to University of Alberta undergraduate students in financial need. This program is run through the Student Financial Aid Information Centre and is funded through student fees. Students can receive up to $3,000/year and $6,000/lifetime.
